Students Name: Merly De La Hoz-Cookson Tutors Name: Kathleen Smith Time Tutored: 1 year Time in U.S.A.: 2 Years 3 Months Level: 4- Low Advanced During my early years at home, school, the park, even at the grocery store I was recuested to speak clearly and very well. My younger brother who was three years old corrected me. He reminded me not to miss the “s” or “r” at the end of words. So now I am used to expresing myself making proper use of my wonderful, rich Spanish. I will be glad speaking very well in another language. As a human being we have the magnificet capacity to adapt to new enviroments receiving every new situation like a challenge. Accepting a challenge will make us grow strong. In my development as a teacher, I have some important responsabilities, one of them is to set an example. I want to reflect my self confidence to convince the students that whatever I show them is clear, nothing complicated and is within their reach. Being tutored by a Literacy Volunteer is already positively afecting my entire development in daily life. I will be writing better than today… I am going to read this essay in the future seeing how far I have come in the English language. How far I have come makes me feel joy and I would like to share it with you in the company of my dedicated tutor and the support of a Literacy Volunteers Organization who believed in my potencial. |
