Volunteers
| If you wish to volunteer not as a tutor, your support is much appreciated. There are many capacities beyond tutoring that your expertise could be used in. To apply, simply fill out an application and either drop it off, or mail it to the LVVS office, located at 61 Goodspeed Drive, Westbrook, CT 06498.

Our office staff is always in need of support. Office Volunteers are present in the office when the staff is not. Work to be done includes mailings, filing, and many other clerical jobs. There is no minimum time requirement, so you can volunteer as much or as little as you'd like.
Book Sale Volunteers are needed to work our book sales Friday afternoon and Saturday at our office. Again, there is no minimum time requirement. |

Board Members: Kathy Bozzi and the Nominating Committee of LVVS are seeking people interested in serving on our Board of Directors. If you or someone you know who is interested in serving the shoreline communities in a way that gives satisfaction and meaning to others as well as yourself, please contact the LVVS office (860-399-0280 or email info@vsliteracy.org).
Board job description: Board members are responsible for providing the human, fiscal, and community resources required to enable and/or enhance the capacity of the organization to achieve a balanced intake and support for tutors and learners. Board members are also responsible for providing the expertise and guidance required to conduct the organization's affairs. Members must attend Board meetings on a regular basis, participate actively on one or more committees, foster the organization's approach to solving the problem of illiteracy, assist in some way with resource development, make a serious commitment to the cause of literacy and understand the goals of the organization.
